BRIEF
Old Mutual required an updated online application for the Tax Free Savings Plan This application needed to be intuitive, functional and comply with company and government legislation. The end goal: ease the burden of the call centre, reduce manual administration and create an straight forward sign up process.
METHODS
When first approaching the project we gathered information to understand user needs and compiled a user profile. We then proceeded to workshop ideas with our client and come up with wireframes to showcase the user journeys.

CREATIVE CRAFTSMANSHIP
Our designers crafted a user-focused interface that challenged the safe mould of the existing brand CI, adopting mobile-first thinking and a responsive development approach to present beautiful visuals that captured the essence of the Old Mutual brand.

USER EXPERIENCE
The design team in collaboration with the Old Mutual UX team and partners, was tasked with the job of creating a clear interface for the wireframes guided by the Old Mutual TFSA brand guidelines. Everything from shapes, to colours and icons, was crafted to make the final product easy to understand and simple to use.
DEVELOPMENT
The TFSA front-end was developed on a bootstrap grid with responsive enhancements for mobile views. Additional attention insured all the correct logic was applied for validation of the user details, amounts, multiple currencies and business policies. We kept the front-end code lean using a mixture of Ajax, Gulp and SASS.

From start to finish the final TFSA application takes the user through 5 easy steps. The application process can be exited and autosaves at any point in the journey. A final product is emailed in a pdf.

Results: The TFSA platform achieved better than expected results, passing 1000 online applications in the first month.
